Our pets are always there for us. They are our companions, our friends and our family. It has been proven that interacting with animals provides numerous mental and physical benefits. A great way to recognize their contribution to our lives is to have a lovingly custom-painted portrait made of them.

How This Works

Fill out the contact form below to let me know that you are interested. I will respond with all of the information you will need to get started. We will discuss what you are looking for and which reference photos will work best.

I will then review the content and get back to you if more photos are needed. At that point, I will be able to give you a relative timeline for the completed work.

I have been drawing and painting since I could first hold a pencil. I received an undergraduate degree in painting from Boston University and a masters degree in education. My work as an artist has ranged from fine art painting and logo design to book illustration and I’ve been an art teacher for over 20 years.

I live in the Hudson Valley of New York, overlooking the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains with my husband, two teenage daughters, pets, and honeybees.

All work is done with oil paint on stretched cotton canvas. I paint the sides of the canvas as well; this allows framing to be optional.

Prices are as follows for works similar to the examples shown (headshots on simple painterly backgrounds).

If you would like more complex works/backgrounds or multiple pets, I can give estimates after our initial contact.

I will do my best to capture the likeness and spirit of your pet. Whether it’s a pet you currently live with or one who touched your life in the past, having a portrait of them on your wall is a great way to honor them. These portraits also make wonderful gifts.
